If your subwoofer is placed accurately, you shouldn’t be able to reveal its location in a space. Listen carefully for where the bass provides the most boom texture while keeping details like speech and instruments balanced. Think of the sound travel as a feedback loop-what you’ll hear from the ground is equivalent to your seated position. Drop down on all fours and keep your head a knee’s length from the floor as you move around your room to experience the audio from different positions. Next, place your subwoofer on your primary listening seat, whether that’s a spot on your couch or chair. First, pull up a familiar bass-heavy song. If you don’t have access to a suite of audio measurement tools, you can still get your sound properly dialed in using the crawl test. But, in an “ideal” setup, you want the sub to blend in with the overall noise. Sound is subjective-you may prefer boomier audio or exceptional clarity in mids and highs, which is fine. Heavy Rain Sounds Rain’s great, but heavy rain’s better. This Alexa sound excludes some of the more disruptive sounds of rainfall (such as thunder and lightning) so you can drift off to the gentle, pattering sound of falling raindrops. The subwoofer is responsible for handling the low-frequency bass sounds, which create deep booms and rumbles (think explosions or the acceleration of a car engine). Tap the name of the current sound to view other sounds, then tap a sound name to listen to a preview. Tap Background Sounds to start or stop playing background sounds.
